Bad day turned good

Hi everyone!

Today started out quite shitty. Excuse the language, but there is no other word for it. We got a call at 8:45am from the realtor saying that we didn’t get the apartment that we applied for. According to him we were “unlucky”. We went to see it on Tuesday, and it was just a really great apartment. We were really interested, and we were actually quite sure we were going to get it. Sadly, we didn’t. And I had already started thinking about packing up our stuff and moving there next week, haha. (I had already started drawing up how we were going to furnish it). Anyway, after some thinking, I think that it might have been for the better. It has to mean that there is a better apartment out there for us, right?

The thing with the apartments here in Norway are, that they are small, and super expensive to rent. So we decided to add $170 extra to what we’re used to paying in rent for the flat we have now so that we can get a bigger and better apartment. I have to say though, the most important thing for me is really location. I want to live in one of those cute down town apartment buildings! Even though it’s not a good neighborhood and all, I really love how it looks in Møhlenpris (neighborhood in Bergen).

Anyway, even though I had a bad start to the day I cheered up after a while. Niels was going to uni, so I and Mushu tagged along and went to the park while he was there.

IMG_1712 IMG_1713It was SUCH a beautiful day to be in the park. The leaves were falling, it was chilly but not cold, a bit windy, but not too much. Mushu loves going to the park, and I would really love to have an apartment where I can actually walk him in and to the park, and don’t have to take a bus to get there. Hopefully, if we find the apartment we have in mind, we’ll be coming here like every day. And I was feeling a bit anonymous today :)

Haha, it was sunny and windy, so sunnies were a must ;) My eyes were watering like crazy! After the park we walked a couple of blocks, with frequent bench-stops. Mushu loves sitting on benches and people watching.

After that we went exploring…. We’ve applied for an apartment, and I really wanted to see the location and what the building looks like. Well, from the outside it looked all right, and it was really close to pretty much everything, so the location was good. (Also, it’s only a few blocks away from where Starbucks is going to be in a couple of months). So I hope we’ll hear back from the owner so we get to see the place inside too.

After our little adventure, we met up with Niels, had coffee, and went on a walk to a different park. We had such a nice walk while we were talking and enjoying ourselves. I’ve actually never been in this park before, and I’ve lived in this city for over a year now. Kinda weird considering that it’s not a very big city.

The weather, sadly didn’t last though. We got genuine Bergen-weather on our way back. Heavy rain on/off, sun and wind in the same timel Gotta love it.

I fell fast asleep as soon as we got home, and I was out for probably close to two hours. I was just really exhausted, and my joints really hurt (they still do btw). I’m still on the couch with my duvet relaxing and lounging, which is what I’ll do for the rest of the night. While apartment hunting.

I know it’s an awful lot of apartment talk lately, but would you like posts on the topic? We’ll be moving somewhere different within the next three months, that for sure, we just don’t know where yet. So I may be doing posts on the moving, on decorating the new place and stuff like that. Does it sound interesting?
